EagleEye

Scan-to-CAD reconstruction

Reality. Then CAD. Then the robot.

Legacy parts, repairs and structures that were never modelled still need welding. EagleEye® turns what the sensors see into a STEP model that automatic programming can use.

Overview

Automatic programming needs a model. Many parts do not have one.

In applications such as shipbuilding, heavy fabrication and repair work, drawings are incomplete, outdated or do not accurately represent the assembly on the shop floor. EagleEye® addresses that gap at its source: it builds the model from the physical part.

EagleEye® reconstructs engineering CAD models of real parts and scenes from 3D sensor data. It fits seamlessly into the Lumen® pipeline.

How it works

From physical reality to digital intelligence

EagleEye® progresses through four representations of the same object.

Capture

3D sensors record the part or scene from multiple viewpoints as dense point clouds.

Modules

Two modules, one pipeline

EagleEye® separates geometric reconstruction from engineering modelling.

Parallax®

Point clouds to coherent geometry

Parallax® processes 3D data captured from multiple camera perspectives and turns it into a single, coherent geometric reconstruction.

  • Point-cloud processing and noise filtering
  • Multi-view data fusion
  • Geometric reconstruction and surface processing
  • Generation of coherent 3D meshes

Sculptor®

Meshes to engineering CAD

Sculptor® interprets reconstructed geometry as engineering features and generates a parametric CAD model that downstream systems, including Lumen®, can use to recreate the scene as a very accurate digital twin.

  • Feature-level interpretation of reconstructed geometry
  • Parametric CAD model generation
  • Output ready for automatic robot programming

Capabilities

Where EagleEye® is aimed

01

Parts without CAD

Legacy components and parts fabricated from drawings that were never modelled in 3D.

02

Repair welding

Worn or damaged components whose real geometry differs from any original model.

03

Shipbuilding and heavy fabrication

Large structures where 3D models are incomplete or do not match what was built.

04

Digital twins of cells

Reconstruction of real industrial scenes for simulation and offline programming.

Works with

The missing input for automatic programming.

Lumen Weld® needs a model. EagleEye® provides one. Together they allow a part to be scanned in the cell and welded from an automatically generated program, without anyone modelling it first.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask

How do we start with EagleEye®?

Contact us to discuss your application.

Why generate CAD instead of welding directly from the point cloud?

A CAD model is a stable, inspectable engineering artefact. It can be reviewed, reused, versioned and used by any downstream system, not only by one welding program.
